Department/Program: Residential Services – Slidell, Mandeville, Covington

Position: CLS II (Community Living Specialist)

Job Duties Summary: Responsible for carrying out daily training programs for persons with developmental disabilities. Maintains the community home in good condition. Ensures the safety and well-being of community home residents, equipment, and facility. Adheres to the policies and standards for community home residents as established by STARC and other regulatory agencies. May be required to transport clients. Valid driver’s license and good driving record are required. High school diploma or equivalent required.  Must successfully complete CMA certification training and receive CMA certificate within one year of date of hire. Workers are required to rotate between all three homes (1 home is in Slidell; 1 in Mandeville and 1 in Covington).

Hours: Shift work as assigned. The program operates 24 hours per day/365 days per year. Note – Staff schedules (which home and what shift) are posted every 2 weeks.

Department/Program: Waiver Services – St. Tammany Parish

Position: DSP II (Direct Support Professional)

Job Duties Summary: Provides in-home care, fellowship, homemaker services, and one-on-one assistance and support to individuals living in the community who, due to intellectual disABILITIES, cannot care for his/her own personal needs or function independently in the community. Responsible for assisting individuals with activities of daily living, accessing and participating in community activities, ensuring health and safety of an individual, and encouraging maximum independence and self-dignity for the individual.  High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Valid driver’s license required.

Hours:  Varied and flexible – Weekends, afternoons and evenings; full and part-time positions

Department/Program: Noah’s ARC Child Day Care – Mandeville


Job Duties Summary: Works under the supervision of Noah’s ARC Child Development Center Director to develop weekly lesson plans and prepare materials for infant/toddler or preschool classroom of special needs and typically developing children. Implements established, approved plans in the classroom. Provides individual personal care for children as needed.  Conducts periodic assessments and records progress of each child’s skills. Minimum of Associates degree from accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education or human services field; and CDA certification. One to two years of documented prior experience working as a teacher of infants, toddlers, preschoolers and/or young children in a licensed early childhood setting and experience working with children with special needs, including autism, is preferred.

Hours: Full-time, M-F, Center hours are 7:00 AM-5:45 PM

Department/Program: Residential Services – Slidell, Mandeville & Covington

Position: QIDP/Residential Services (Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional)

Job Duties Summary:

Responsible for assuring various aspects of each individuals’ program, including developing outcomes, goals/objectives.  Coordinates, supervises and monitors implementation of each individuals’ person-centered plan to maximize their participation and adaptive functioning.  Provides program methods and monitors staff implementation while evaluating the individual’s response to support provided and modifies person-centered programs as needed.  Assures that facilities operate in compliance with federal, state, local and corporate regulations and agency policies.  Must be available to work a flexible schedule.  May be required to transport clients.  May be required to work in any STARC-operated facility.  May serve as the designee in Program Coordinator’s absence.  Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field plus one year experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities is required.  Valid driver’s license required.

Hours: Full-time, 40 hrs wk/minimum, days and evenings – weekends possible, on-call status
